Casting Performers for "Come Blow Your Horn" Play
Auditions for "Come Blow Your Horn" play. In search of cast. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Please find the breakdown below. About the project: "Come Blow Your Horn centers on Buddy Baker, a tightly wound young man who escapes his parents’ home and moves in with his older brother Alan, a smooth-talking bachelor holding court in a swanky New York apartment. Alan’s carefully balanced life starts to tip when Connie Dayton, his sharp and increasingly fed-up girlfriend, wants something real, while Buddy falls for Peggy Evans and discovers adulthood comes faster than advertised. Then add the arrival of Mr. and Mrs. Baker—lovingly neurotic, gloriously overbearing parents whose well-meaning meddling and blunt observations steal scenes left and right—and you’ve got a comedy packed with big laughs and characters who are an absolute blast to watch." The script includes brief moments of stage kissing and light physical affection between romantic partners. Rate: Please note that there is NO PAY. 6 role s
(male-identifying). Alan lives the fantasy version of adulthood that looks great from a distance. He must be likable even when he’s wrong.
(male-identifying). Sweet, anxious, deeply decent. Play the sincerity. The comedy comes from how genuinely he’s trying to do the “right” thing while the ground keeps shifting under him.
(female-identifying). Connie’s the sharpest person in the room and knows it. Smart, self-possessed, emotionally fluent.
(female-identifying). Peggy is instinct and impulse. Heart first, brakes never. Play the hope. She’s not dumb, she’s open.
(male-identifying). Old-school values, firm rules, clear expectations. Avoid the cartoon dad. Ground him. His anger comes from fear, not cruelty.
(female-identifying). Still waters run deep. She often knows the truth before anyone else says it out loud. She loves her family deeply and is the bridge for the father and the sons.
