The company is holding auditions for "The SpongeBob Musical" and looking for performers, please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. About the project: The SpongeBob Musical is based on the beloved animated series created by Stephen Hillenburg and features a book by Kyle Jarrow, with original songs by Yolanda Adams, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Sara Bareilles, Jonathan Coulton, Alexander Ebert of Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, The Flaming Lips, Lady A, Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, Panic! At the Disco, Plain White T’s, They Might Be Giants and T.I., and songs by David Bowie, Tom Kenny and Andy Paley. Additional lyrics are by Jonathan Coulton, with additional music by Tom Kitt. The musical production was conceived by Tina Landau. Additional info: Rehearsals: Rehearsals are Monday through Friday from 7PM to 10PM Bring your calendar to auditions. Everyone may not be required to attend every rehearsal, but all conflicts must be approved before casting. Performance Dates (MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR ALL PERFORMANCE DATES): Weekends starting Saturday, May 28th, 2026, running Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays through the end of June, 2026 The Audition: Please bring a resume and headshot if you have one. (Not required.) Actors of all ethnicities, and backgrounds are encouraged to audition. Ideally looking for people of all shapes and sizes. (Age ranges are suggestions - no children). Everyone must be able to move well. Singers, Dancers and Singer/Dancers welcome! Singers - please come prepared to sing one minute of a Broadway, Rock or Pop style song. Bring accompaniment on a device that can connect through Bluetooth to our speaker. You will learn a simple movement routine so be dressed to move. Dancers - you will learn a choreo routine and may be asked to demonstrate special skills or a variety of dance styles. Come prepared to sing "Happy Birthday."

(Lead; strong solo singer) (Range: A2-G4) - Incorrigibly optimistic, innocent, energetic, and sometimes hyperactive. - Must move very well and be an incredibly physical actor, be naturally funny, likable and have excellent comedic skills.
(Lead; strong solo singer) (Range: A2-A4) - Well-intentioned and kind but somewhat clueless ; a big softie, who can also be prone to sudden child-like fits. - He is SpongeBob's BFF.
(Lead, strong solo singer & dancer) (Range: A2-F#4) - Cynical, dry, short-tempered, and generally pessimistic but extremely lovable! - Must move well, and TAP dancing skills are a plus.
(Lead, strong solo singer) (Range: A3-E5) A brainy, athletic and very likeable Texan squirrel; she is one of SpongeBob's closest friends.
(Lead, strong solo singer) (Range: E3-E4) - A slick, scheming, nefarious yet charming villain. - He’s determined and very greedy, but his heart is still open enough to rekindle a romance with his wife. - Needs to be comfortable moving, and have mad rap skills.
(Supporting lead) (Range: A3-F#4) - The Glamorous robotic housewife of Plankton. - She's become jaded – she's been there and done that. - Strong comic actress, as well as Singer and Mover.
(Lead, strong solo singer) (Range: D3-B4) - The greedy but lovable owner of the Krusty Krab, and employer of SpongeBob and Squidward. - Loves money, his daughter and money.
The following featured and featured supporting roles will be cast from the ensemble. The ensemble will also bring the world of Bikini Bottom to life as sea creatures, Townfish, sardines, the chorus of sponges, and an angry mob.
(Featured speaking role) (Range: D3-F4 (F5 falsetto) - The French pirate who narrates the play. - This Actor should have a lot of charisma and charm to keep the audience entertained and excellent diction.
(Featured singing roles) (Range: G3-C4/G4-C5) - The members of the rock band the Electric Skates are larger-than-life rock stars. - These actors should have an uncompromising, punk-rock attitude. - Actors who can skate and/or do tumbling are a plus.
(Strong featured singers) (Range: G2-D4/G3-D5) - These are the leaders of the school of Sardines. - They lead the group of sardines to follow Patrick as their guru. - Looking for actors with prominent singing voices and quirky personalities.
(Featured supporting role) (Range: F#4-B5) - The mayor attempts to resolve the volcano crisis with grand speeches and words, but takes little action, more worried about getting re-elected than actually helping the town. - Stereotypical politician.
(Featured role) (Range: E2-E4) - The Bikini Bottom action news reporter. - Very showman-like.
(Featured role) - The oldest Boomer in all of Bikini Bottom. - A curmudgeon.
(Featured role) - A vain bodybuilder, obsessed with his looks. - Thrilled with himself.
(Featured role) - The town driving instructor. - She is sassy and sarcastic. - The glass is always half-empty.
(Featured dancers) - These flashy tap dancers become the big chorus line ensemble for Squidward in his imagination. - Tap experience is a plus.
