Writers Playground shines a spotlight on creativity from right here in our own backyard, presenting an evening of original ten-minute plays performed by local actors. Funny, touching, and full of surprises, this community-driven event embodies the Playhouse’s mission to nurture talent, celebrate storytelling, and bring people together through the power of live theater. This year, Writers Playground debuts a newly imagined format: a one-night-only series of staged readings where each ten-minute play is followed by an engaging audience talkback led by the festival’s dramaturg and director. This exciting structure puts the spotlight on the developmental process, offering writers valuable feedback while giving audiences a unique behind-the-scenes look at how new plays are shaped.
