About the project: When a mother, Sunny who traveled from Korea seeking treatment for her dying son and a pediatrician, Nora who once "missed" the signs in her own child are trapped together in a Mother's Day makeup event during a blackout, they open up to each other and discover they're not different people at all. finding unexpected comfort in shared understanding. Korean Woman (were also open to other Asian ethnicities). Sonny is a mother who has been close to losing her son to a rare disease for quite a while now. She’s come to Canada to find a cure, but she still feels guilty about the whole situation. When she meets and connects with our other lead Nora, we see her open up. The role was written for a strong actress who can convey the emotional core of the film.
African Canadian Woman (also open to change the character to any other ethnicity except Asian). Nona is a physician and mother who has a son in a similar situation to Sony’s. As a physician, she maintains a warm, professional demeanour, with a clean and understated appearance, devoting most of her time to her patients and her child.
