About the project: Honey has been shackled by her husband to the white picket fence life for far too long. Suddenly, it has become excruciatingly clear that enduring his abuse is no longer an option. Honey must find a way to survive with the help of the only person that truly listens, the butcher. "The Butcher" is a short film following a house wife as she fearfully takes the necessary steps to kill her abuser. It is about women's relationships to one another when they are bound by violence without ever showing violence because a woman's story should focus on who she is, not what she endures. Rate: Non union. Paid. Additional information: Project length: Short Film, approx. 15 min. Shooting Schedule: 3 day shoot. Week of April 26th - May 2nd. Exact dates TBD. Location: Regina, SK.
