About the project: "The Prince of Egypt" is a powerful, epic musical based on the DreamWorks animated film. The story follows Moses, raised as an Egyptian prince, who discovers his Hebrew heritage and is called to lead his people to freedom. Set in ancient Egypt, the production explores themes of faith, identity, sacrifice, and brotherhood through soaring music, emotionally driven storytelling, and physically demanding ensemble work. This is a highly active show, especially for dancers, which is why casting is taking place early. Additional info: Performance dates: July 11, *12, 17, *18, *19, 24, *25 (*asterisk indicates a matinee). Sundays have one performance; Saturdays have 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM performances. Rehearsals are generally held Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, with adjustments as needed. Choreography rehearsals typically take place Saturday mornings and Sunday afternoons for a few weeks. Audition material: Prepare a monologue no longer than 1 minute and a song of your choice with a maximum 16-bar cut. Dance audition will be led by the choreographer; no preparation is required.
