Performers Needed for Theatre Audition "The Dinner Note"
Casting talent for "The Dinner Note" project. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Set in 2025, JR is a Black Deaf sophomore at Hampton High School in Seattle, WA. The class is given an assignment to deliver a 5-minute creative presentation on US Deaf History and ASL, which JR is excited to share. JR is interrupted while presenting and is later handed a note to bring home by his teacher, Mr. Watson, who has taken issue with his work. After a family Sunday dinner, filled with reflection and humor, JR shares the note regarding his project. They come together as a family to decide the best approach to handling the situation. Content warning: Contains use of the "N" word once, and brief use of curse words. Additional info: Rehearsals will be held in the evenings in the Eastman Studio Theatre, typically 6 to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday, depending on your role. Rehearsals start on Mon, Jan 26. Performances are from March 26 to 29 and April 2 to 5. Please apply, if interested.
