Actors Needed for Play "Kiss the Fortune Teller"
"Kiss the Fortune Teller" play needs actors. Please see the details below. About the project: "This comedic and yet dead serious story unfolds in real time as a forlorn young man, with the help of his heroic grandmother, searches for the woman he tried to save from a nightmarish fate when they were both children. An orphan, a determined refugee, a phony fortune teller, and a renegade dentist make up this colorful crew of hopeful souls." Additional info: Rehearsal dates: these are built around the actors' availability and are flexible. Weekday evenings, usually, 7:30 to 9:30, perhaps three times per week. Performance dates: April 8, April 11 and/or 18, followed by May 1 through 9. You must be able to commit to all the performances, of course. Tech week is mandatory also. Earnest, naive, deeply good, he has power in his sheltered world because of his stubborn protectiveness and affection toward others. He has lived all his life with his "grandparents," who are foster parents to many abused children, and has himself not completely grown up.
About 25. Good natured but cynical, a self-created woman-of-the-world, who gets by as a phony fortune teller in Little Italy, Manhattan. Emotionally bitter, she is nevertheless charming and still full of youthful potential.
A sweet-natured "failure" of a man with multiple ex-wives, he has latched onto Selena as a sort of sidekick. He lives her cynical life alongside her, but still yearns for a spiritual underpinning and a redress to childhood neglect.
