About the play: Join Miss Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Dorothy Watson as they work together to uncover the secrets surrounding a corrupt police inspector whose wives have a habit of turning up dead! These unconventional women, trapped in an era that refuses to accept them, must forge a bond of trust and work together through the dangers of 19th century London in this entertaining and delightfully fast-moving murder mystery. Line Read: For those who are selected for the cast, the first line read of the play (and handing out scripts) will take place Monday, January 19, 2026, in the evening. When: Auditions will be held over three days: January 3-5, 2026. No experience is required to audition. You will be provided short sections from the script in advance of the auditions. PRIMARY CHARACTERS (attends all rehearsals). Female-presenting. Tenacious and incredibly intelligent woman living at a time when neither trait was desirable for a lady. Energetic.
PRIMARY CHARACTERS (attends all rehearsals). Female-presenting. One of the very few women licensed to practice medicine. Far more practical and level-headed than Sherlock, but just as brave. This actress will need to learn a few German lines.
SUPPORTING CHARACTER (attends 1 – 3 rehearsals a week). Male-presenting. Older than Sherlock. He is the spider spinning a web from within the government. Meticulous in every way.
SUPPORTING CHARACTER (attends 1 – 3 rehearsals a week). Female-presenting. Newest bride of bride of Thomas, who she views him with a mixture of pride and fear. Innocent and earnest.
SUPPORTING CHARACTER (attends 1 – 3 rehearsals a week). Male-presenting. Decorated Scotland Yard detective, recently married for the third time, with a questionable reputation. Intense and charismatic.
