About the project: Step inside Willy Wonka’s marvelous chocolate factory, where candy is sweeter, colors are brighter, and anything is possible! Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a spectacular musical filled with dazzling songs, whimsical sets, and unforgettable characters. Join Charlie Bucket and four other lucky golden ticket winners as they embark on a magical adventure through Wonka’s world of Oompa Loompas, wild inventions, and sweet surprises. Featuring classic songs like Pure Imagination alongside new show-stopping numbers, this delightful production is a treat for all ages. Don’t miss your chance to experience the wonder—secure your golden ticket today! Rate: Non-paid. Additional info: Please prepare a song (approx. 32 bars, or 60 - 90 seconds of music) in the style of the show. An accompanist will be provided, so please bring sheet music for the accompanist to play. Performing with an accompanist is strongly preferred, but you may provide tracks if you do not have sheet music. Please note: Amplification will not be provided, and playing backing tracks off a cell phone (without proper additional amplification) is strongly discouraged. Callbacks will be held on Wednesday, December 17, starting at 6 pm. Callback notifications will be sent out by Friday, December 12 by 5 pm. There will be a dance section of callbacks from 6pm - 7pm, with singing and sides to occur afterwards. Rehearsals will begin in January. Rehearsals will be based on both performer and production staff availability, so please submit all known conflicts at the time of auditions. The Milburn Stone Theatre traditionally rehearses between two and four times a week. If interested, please apply.

(Vocal Range: G#3 to F5, Tenor/Boy Soprano): The protagonist and emotional heart of the story. He is sweet, smart, hopeful, and loving, representing wonderful innocence, integrity, and vulnerability. This role is strongly preferred to be played by an actor under the age of 16. Due to the demands of the role, Charlie will likely be double-cast (two actors sharing performances).
