About the project: Separated by an ongoing war, Ibrahim and Layla cling to a fragile phone connection as their only lifeline. Ibrahim, living safely in Canada, struggles with guilt and helplessness as he tries to reach Layla, who remains trapped in Gaza. As the pressure mounts and the truth of their circumstances comes to light, the two fight to preserve their bond as their worlds collapse, forcing them to confront love, guilt, and the limits of hope. Rate: This is a student project, and directors do not have the funds to pay the crew and cast, but they’ll cover the food and transportation costs during the shoot. Non-union/ACTRA. Medium build, with a weary yet resilient presence. A highly intelligent and empathetic Palestinian man from Gaza currently living in Toronto. He carries the visible weight of survival and the invisible burden of guilt. Performs scenes of fear, shock, and deep vulnerability. This role requires strong emotional range and comfort with both tense and intimate dramatic scenes. Actor must speak Arabic (Palestinian dialect preferred, but not required).

Layla (Lead)Female25-40 y.o.Middle Eastern

Strong but physically worn down by life in a war warzone. Intelligent, caring, and quietly resilient, she struggles between wanting safety with her husband and feeling responsible for her patients. She's the central emotional anchor of the film, should be comfortable performing intense dramatic material. Actress must speak Arabic (Palestinian dialect preferred, but not required).
