"Parade Adagio" film casting actors & dancers. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. See more info below. About the project: "In Albuquerque, New Mexico, a visiting titan of ballet develops a new piece with a local troupe, creating a crucible that forces three generations of dancers to confront the choices that will shape their art—and their futures." Rate: Paid opportunity. Additional info: Looking for ballet dancers (contemporary or neoclassical preferred) and actors to play main roles. There are dancing and non-dancing roles. Non-union. No acting experience needed. Must be able to work locally in Albuquerque, New Mexico (shooting from February 9-22, 2026). When applying, please include name, age, city of residence, dance/acting resume (depending on talent), and current photos of yourself. -If you are applying as a dancer, directors encourage you to include additional materials such as taped-performance video links that reflect your current skill level/appearance. -If you are applying for a non-dancing role, please include a short intro video (1 minute max) telling about yourself. Directors are looking for dancers to fill out “film troupe” in addition to the main roles, so if you are not chosen for a main role, there is still an opportunity to dance in the film. An androgynous up-and-comer in the local Albuquerque ballet troupe, Arlo, is the soul of the film—someone who stands for a renewed perception of gender in the ballet industry and is led by their fearlessness and curiosity. Arlo has a day-job in a kitchen. Must be an an advanced ballet dancer. Note, there are partial-nudity (non-intimate) and intimate (non-nude) scenes (two). All nudity will be handled professionally, following standard intimacy coordination and consent protocols.

ELISEFemale36-39 y.o.Latino / Hispanic

The well-known, long-standing principal dancer in the Albuquerque troupe. Elise is level-headed and self-assured as she approaches a part in her career where she is battling the physical demands of ballet and considering retirement. Elise also believes in the allure that Albuquerque has, and has resided in the city her entire life; she is Burqueña through and through. Must be an advanced ballet dancer.

DEANMale36-44 y.o.African-American

The assistant to Gideon. He fulfills the movement-based trials for their ballet works as Gideon doesn’t dance anymore. Dean has been the only person to assist in Gideon’s works, and thus is Gideon’s closest confidant and like a little brother. Must be an advanced ballet dancer.

GIDEONMale36-45 y.o.African-American

A famous contemporary ballet composer-choreographer who is working with a local troupe in New Mexico in efforts to write something fresh after leaving his home of New York City behind. He is calloused from working in the industry, and carries a weight with him that he wears on his sleeve around the Albuquerque troupe. Piano experience strongly preferred.

The artistic director of the Albuquerque ballet troupe and owner of the dance studio they work out of. Lottie took Elise under her wing when Elise was a young dancer and has become a motherly figure to her. Lottie serves as a guiding voice for Elise, especially regarding aging as a Latin woman in the ballet industry.

Arlo’s coworker and love interest, Lucero is a rugged cook at the restaurant Arlo works at, and an understanding force in Arlo’s life. Lucero and Arlo meditate on their place in the world, and what it means to be young and ambitious in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
