8 roles

ANNIEFemale25-40 y.o.All ethnicities

The company’s stage manager who finds herself thrust into the role of lead actress when the star is knocked unconscious. At first terrified with stage fright, she finds the confidence (and hamminess) to fill the role.

TREVORBoth genders25-40 y.o.All ethnicities

A theater techie who dislikes actors. As the company’s lighting and sound operator he keeps the technical side of the production moving forward despite all of the mishaps (including him engaging with the audience).

JONATHANBoth genders25-40 y.o.All ethnicities

English. Plays Charles Haversham. He thinks of himself as a James Bond type despite a somewhat ordinary exterior. He cares about the play, but not as much as the rest of the company. Very physical role.

ROBERTMale30-50 y.o.All ethnicities

English. Plays Thomas Colleymoore. He knows he is the star of the show and that he can earnestly persevere (sometimes plow) his way through any obstacle that comes his way. He never learns from his mistakes. Robert wishes he were the president of the Drama Society instead of Chris.

DENNISBoth genders25-40 y.o.All ethnicities

English. Plays Perkins, the anxious butler who wants to do the right thing. Dennis is hoping that being in the Drama Society will help him make friends. Laughter from the audience feels like a personal failure for him.

MAXBoth genders25-35 y.o.All ethnicities

English. Plays Cecil Haversham and Arthur the Gardener. A true beginner actor who easily gets distracted but also wants to do everything exactly as it was rehearsed (meaning there is no connection with his fellow actors). Loves connecting with the audience.

SANDRABoth genders25-40 y.o.All ethnicities

English. Plays Florence Colleymoore. Sandra is the (diva) leading lady who is convinced she is going to go far. Smart, driven and wants to be loved by everyone. Very physical role.

CHRISBoth genders25-35 y.o.All ethnicities

The director of the show and this is the biggest day of his life, rigid, uptight, self-important, his pain is evident and every time someone laughs the pain deepens, equal amounts of contempt for his fellow actors and the audience, high status clown.
