Patience is a woman struggling with deep-seated trauma that causes her to flinch from her husband Michael's gentle touch. She loves him but is trapped by memories, giving walls and silence as she actively, painfully tries to heal and relearn safety in her own skin.
Michelle appears indifferent in therapy, but she is perceptive and reveals she wasn't "blind to the grind" of her fiancé's facade. Her conflict is that she lost herself in the relationship and is now questioning if she just loved his potential, not the real man.
