About the project: Synopsis: In a small college town, a digital zombie virus infects Roxy, a scene college girl shortly before her best friend Vivienne’s birthday party. She must fight her zombie “self” in an internal battle for the sake of protecting the people close to her. Will she embrace her new self and infect the masses, or will her original self prevail and save the people she cares about the most? Additional info: Please prepare 1-2 monologues you believe best suits your talent as an actor. The monologues should be contrasting so directors can see two performance types. They will also have sides available to you. Contrasting monologues are monologues with different emotional approaches or from two different genres, for example comedic and dramatic. Lead. She is dressed in the scene style that was popular in the early 2010s. Shy & meek, she keeps to herself & has few friends, but greatly cares for the friends she does have. Black cat personality. She is not interested in men; closeted and secretly in love with her best friend, Vivienne. She changes into a different person after she is infected; turning into a confident and flirty person to help her turn her victims by luring them in, like a siren. Will have zombie makeup and fight scenes.
Deuteragonist (2nd Lead). Roxy's best friend and roommate. She is a witchy and whimsical, with a warm and inviting presence to her. She is in a relationship with Oliver, which Roxy is jealous of. She does not know about Roxy’s feelings for her, but still cares greatly for her. When Roxy begins to act differently, Vivienne investigates what happened to her.
Roxy's long time friend. Stoic, logical, and levelheaded. Shares many interests with Roxy and knows about her secret crush on Vivienne. When Roxy begins acting differently, Viv comes to Damien for help. He is protective of Vivienne for the sake of Roxy. Will have zombie makeup and fight scene.
Vivienne's boyfriend. Textbook performative male. While he may seem charismatic and friendly to some, he hides his true personality; selfish, egotistical, and a womanizer. One of the first people to be infected by Roxy. After the infection, he loses the ability to hide his true self. Will have zombie makeup and fight scenes.
Oliver's roommate. They are a surfer-stoner transfer student from Cali. Laidback and genuine, they are the opposite of Oliver's performative personality. Big waves, good vibes, and weed are on their mind constantly.
Oliver's friends from board game club. Are oblivious to Oliver's real self (victims of zombie Oliver). Will have zombie makeup for few and ⅔ will have fight scene.
Will be needed for students and other background extras.
