ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Seeking cast for upcoming light, comedic, slice of life short form digital series "Newish". See the details below. About the project: A surreal comic manifestation of the main character's inner voice. Half motivational job coach, half absurdist fantasy figure. Rate: Non-union; paid; fees commensurate with a low budget production. Additional information: Shooting during the week of January 12 or 19 (exact dates to be determined soon) in Ottawa. PRINCIPAL. MANICURIST/HAIRSTYLIST. Main character's best friend, from Trinidad (or other Caribbean island), gay, warm, witty, with dreams. He is the main character's "guide to Canada".
SUPPORTING. MUST SPEAK UKRAINIAN. Actress from Ukraine; Beautiful, funny, ambitious, a true romantic, and a bit over the top.
