About the project: LOGLINE: A local health inspector must navigate through defunding and deregulation to protect consumers from the dangers of raw milk. SYNOPSIS: Peter, head of the local Health Inspection Office, and his deputy Ruby struggle to keep operations running after being labeled "non-essential" by the federal government. Things get worse when Logan from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) arrives to evaluate further funding cuts. In the pilot, after shutting down a school cafeteria serving raw milk, Peter must convince the parent in charge that raw milk is unsafe. After Logan meddles in the meeting, Cheryl, the mother in charge, decides to sue the department. Now they will deal with the lawsuit with limited resources. A perfectionist workaholic and the office’s backbone, Ruby handles every task flawlessly while keeping the office spotless and herself well put together. Snarky and sharp, especially toward Logan, whom she despises.
A controlling PTA mother who imposes her moral compass on others. Passionate about politics, organic food, and a “natural” lifestyle, she demands respect and understanding yet offers none to opposing views.
