Theater Audition for "Good People" Show
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Seeking performers for "Good People" show. More details are below. About the show: It’s been a rough road for Margie, a single mother living in South Boston. Having just been fired from her job at The Dollar Store, Margie scrambles to find a way for her and her daughter to survive. She decides to contact Mike, an old fling from her high school days, who has become a successful doctor, in the hopes that he (or someone he knows) might have a job for her. As they reconnect, secrets and sacrifices are revealed. Rate: Non-equity. Unpaid. Additional information: Callback Date (if required): December 13 2025, 1– 4 p.m. If you are auditioning, please keep this date open until advised otherwise. Please be prepared to be available for the full three hours. Callbacks will consist of scenes from the show. Directors ask that you be available for the full time. Performance Times and Location: March 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 19 and 20, 2026 at 8 p.m. March 8, 15, and 21, 2026 at 2 p.m. Venue: Scarborough. Rehearsal Dates: First read-through will be Sunday December 28th, 2025 from 1:00- 4:00pm. First rehearsal will be Tuesday January 6, 2026 from 7:30 – 10:30pm. Most rehearsals will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 7:30 – 10:30 p.m. and Sundays, 1-5 p.m. Some rehearsals and all performances are in Scarborough. Additional rehearsals may be added as we move closer to the production opening, especially the week of opening. You will be asked to please list ANY potential conflicts. (Identifying as female) - Margie's eccentric, slightly odd landlady and friend. She walks to the beat of a different drummer.
(Identifying as female) - Margie's friend. Offers advice and support whether wanted or not. A little hard boiled and always has an opinion to share.
(Identifying as a Black female) - Mike's wife. She comes from an academic and professional family and is a college professor. She wants to know Mike’s secrets about his life in Southie. She struggles to understand Mike and Margie’s blue-collar background and how to relate to it.
(Identifying as male) - Margie's old beau. He can be callous and smug. Has a big shot attitude, who doesn't want to remember where he comes from. Can sound heartless. He is a doctor.
(Identifying as male) - Margie's former boss. He can be a quiet guy who slowly starts to show a backbone. He normally does what he is told.
