(older adult) - Matriarch with strong convictions; wise, nurturing, hardworking; struggles to understand new ways while fiercely protecting family values.
(early/mid-adult) - Tired yet resilient mother and wife; loves Walter deeply but worries his dreams are unrealistic.
(young adult) - Passionate intellectual exploring her identity; challenges traditional family values, dreams of becoming a doctor, and is caught between two very different suitors.
(young adult) - Idealistic Nigerian student; introduces Beneatha to new perspectives on identity and heritage. Actor must use an African accent.
(young adult) - Wealthy, conservative college student interested in Beneatha romantically but dismissive of her progressive ideas.
(adult) - Walter’s gullible friend and potential business partner; neighborhood hustler with good intentions but bad luck.
