About the project: Logline: "A coming of age story about a first-generation Hispanic girl and her complicated relationship with her culture, her mother and a loss that changes everything". Rate: Union and Non-Union, through our student agreement with ACTRA. UNPAID (food, transportation and material for demo reel provided). Hispanic (Proficient in Spanish). An independent first-generation Hispanic teen torn between her Canadian upbringing and her roots, she longs for freedom but feels lost between two worlds. As she prepares to leave for school, she realizes she must reconnect with her mother and culture before losing them both forever.
Hispanic (Fluent in Spanish). A hardworking single mother, loving yet stern, burdened by unspoken grief, sacrifice and her mother recent illness. She struggles to connect with her daughter raised in a different world, torn between letting her go and holding on to the bond that defines her..
