LEAD, Vietnamese, Speaks Fluent Vietnamese. A cheery, somewhat naive young woman, Mouse comes to study in Canada as an international student, and decides to stay with her once-close childhood friend, Mia.

MIAFemale25-29 y.o.Asian

PRINCIPAL, Vietnamese, Speaks Adequate Vietnamese. An independent yet distant young woman, Mia has established her life and built her roots in Canada. She is disconnected from her home country and culture, as she does not feel ready to face the past and the circumstances that brought her here. When Mia invites her old childhood friend Mouse to come stay with her to study in Canada, however, Mia’s complicated past and her connections to Vietnam become increasingly difficult to ignore.

ACTOR, Vietnamese, Speaks Fluent Vietnamese. Mia’s mother is a strong, protective woman who does all she can to take care of her family during the uncertain times of 1980s Vietnam. When faced with a difficult choice, she does not hesitate to do whatever it takes to protect her daughter.
