Casting Performers for "The Cottage" Play
Talents is required to audition for "The Cottage". Please see the details below. About the project: Sylvia and Beau find themselves in an English countryside cottage for their yearly rendezvous, and Sylvia knows this time it will be the beginning of their new life together. But when Beau demurs on a shared future, and their spouses arrive at the cottage, she realizes that this home-away-from-home is a refuge for determining a new path forward. With a tip of the hat to Noël Coward and sex comedies of the past, THE COTTAGE offers a perfect showcase for six actors with endless laughs, hilarious twists, daring physical comedy, and a happy ending for lovers everywhere. Additional info: Performance Dates: February 6-8 and 12-14, 2026 at The Art Place-Mt View, 3330 Sandy Plains Rd, Marietta Rehearsals will start in November at Artisans Resource Center - Studio O, 585 Cobb Parkway SE, Marietta GA. Rehearsals will be three weeknight evenings starting at 7:00pm. The exact rehearsal schedule will be discussed at auditions. There will be no rehearsals on the holidays. (British accent): “A lovely and rash romantic” Feminine, elegant, romantic, and strong-willed. Sylvia’s attempts at true love leave her frustrated but ever hopeful. British Accent required.
(British accent): “Perhaps the best looking man in Britian” Sylvia’s gallant lover, whose charisma and wit is tempered by a healthy dose of cynicism. British accent required.
(British accent): “Eight months pregnant, pragmatic, and a tad spicy.” Beau’s wife, logical, and unflappable. Unless, of course, she’s in labor. British accent required.
(British accent): "A distinguished gent with with a lover's spirit." Sylvia's ever accommodating husband. Clarke's kind-heartedness may lead others to take him for a fool.
(British and Cockney accent): “An awfully pretty, sometimes wise, nincompoop.” Beau’s second, surprise mistress. Guillable and sweet, Deirdre is also surprisingly capable of unexpected clarity and insight.
(British and working class accent): “A murderous, yet gentle soul.” Deirdre’s jealous ex-husband. With a seemingly brutish exterior, Richard is exposed to be a nebbish romantic, determined to hold onto his true love (no matter what).
