ID: 296323Exp: 11/28/2025
Description:

Casting actors for "The Dollhouse" Feature Length Film, please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. About the project: In this coming-of-age drama, we follow Grace as she navigates the complexities of girlhood, trauma, and identity through a nonlinear lens. Moving fluidly between past and present, memory and reality. The film opens in a childhood bedroom, where a VHS tape plays. On the TV a dollhouse sits in an empty field basked in purple light. A metaphor for the confined roles society imposes on young girls. Eight-year-old Grace plays with her dolls, rehearsing the scripts she's been given. When Grace faces the harsh reality of life, the realization unleashes a surreal, symbolic sequence: Grace, dressed as a doll, is trapped inside her childhood dollhouse, only now, she’s outgrowing it. The walls buckle as she expands beyond its confines. The house bursts into flames, consumed by the same purple light that opened the film. In the ashes, a woman is reborn. 5 roles

FIONAFemale30-39 y.o.All ethnicities

Fiona is a complicated woman. She grows up feeling similar to Grace. Surrounded by siblings, but feeling alone. Throughout her entire life she struggles to be alone, and while in the background of this film, it is very apparent in her everyday life that she struggles with alcoholism. This eventually causes Fiona and Grace to drift apart.

TOMMale30-39 y.o.All ethnicities

Tom is stubborn, charming, and funny as hell. He is a man who has gone through the wringer and come out stronger. His purpose is to be the father that he never had, until his life is sadly cut short due to ALS. A disease where he becomes paralyzed, a man once full of life; where his favorite things about life are dancing, hiking, walking, and biking, now forced to stay still, until he leaves the Earth.

KIESHAFemale30-39 y.o.All ethnicities

Keisha is Tom’s best friend. For backstory: she lived across the street from Grace and her family. Her and her wife go through a divorce around the same time Tom and Fiona do. A bond that was already deep gets deeper, and Keisha and Tom support each other in this hard time.

STANMale60-69 y.o.All ethnicities

Grandfather of Grace, Fiona’s Father . Stan is scottish, and loves Cathy with his entire heart. During their marriage (In the 60s), he was the stay at home dad, and she was the money maker for the family. Stan is progressive, charismatic, kind, and a family man. Kinda a yes man, but also stubborn. A strange in-between.

CATHYFemale60-69 y.o.All ethnicities

Grandmother of Grace, Fiona’s Mom. Cathy is also a complicated woman. It runs in the family. She is British, and grows up in a bad home. Although she shouldn’t have, it did make her strong. She always knew who she was, and what she wanted. She is strong, charismatic, sociable, catty, and the most out of pocket woman ever. She was the person who provided for and created my family- and she is someone I have always looked up to, even if we disagreed.
