Casting Call for Musical "The Music Man"
"The Music Man" musical needs actors. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. See more info below. About the project: "The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys' band that he vows to organize – this, despite the fact that he doesn't know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain's fall." Additional info: Those auditioning should fill out an Audition Form attached. While it is not necessary to play a band instrument for this production, it may be helpful. Please include that information in your audition form. Plan to arrive ten minutes early for your scheduled time slot on the day of auditions. Please bring a recent headshot (or clear photo of yourself) and a copy of your Audition Form. Directors ask that all auditionees sing a 32-bar cut of music in the style of the show. Please bring tracks ready to use. Those auditioning may be asked to participate in a dance call held at 1 PM. Please make sure to wear clothing and shoes that allow for movement. Callbacks (invitation only): Sunday, November 16 from 6 to 9 PM. Those needed for callbacks will be emailed by Saturday night with any necessary information. Callbacks will be staggered; those needed for callbacks are not expected to stay for the entire duration. Rehearsals will start in January 2026. Rehearsals will be a combination of some weeknights and Saturdays (10 AM to 2 PM). These times are tentative and may be adjusted upon consideration of cast availability. Tech rehearsals begin March 30, 2026. Conflicts during tech are strongly discouraged and may impact casting decisions. Please note that Easter Weekend (April 3-5) is not considered part of the tech rehearsal period. Shows: April 10-12, 2026. If you are interested, please apply.
