"Jesus Christ Superstar" Musical Needs Cast
Auditions for "Jesus Christ Superstar" show. Seeking cast. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. See more info below. Additional info: Please prepare: a song from the show as indicated in the character description, as well as 32 bars of an alternate contrasting song. Singers will be asked to sing only 32 bars from the show song first, but they may be any 32 bars of the Directors’ choosing, so please be prepared for the whole song. Please bring piano sheet music for both the show song, and the contrasting song - an accompanist will be provided. Actors MAY be asked to speak their audition songs as monologues either in the initial audition or the invited callback. Invite only callbacks: Monday November 17th, 6:30pm-10:00pm. Jesus Christ Superstar runs April 24 - May 17, 2026, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 2pm. Rehearsal begin Tuesday March 17, 2026. Rehearsals are typically held Tuesdays-Fridays 6-10pm; Saturdays from 1-5pm; and Sundays from 6-10pm. PLEASE NOTE - There are 4 scheduled weekday morning matinees for this show on May 5, 6, 12, and 13. All actors must be available to participate in these matinees. If you are interested, please apply.

(male-presenting) - Rock Tenor/Baritone. Leader of the twelve Apostles, a man, called the “Son of God” and the “King of the Jews”. Audition Song: I Only Want to Say (Gethsemane).
(male-presenting) - Rock Tenor. Arguably the antagonist of the show. One of the twelve apostles of Jesus; concerned for the poor and the consequences of Jesus’ fame. Audition Song: Heaven on Their Minds.
(female-presenting) - Belter/Mezzo/Alto. A female follower of Jesus who finds herself falling in love with Him. The role requires an actress that can show grace, stability, vulnerability, and compassion. Audition Song: I Don’t Know How to Love Him.
(male-presenting) - Rock Baritone/BariTenor. Governor of Judea who foresees the events of Jesus crucifixion from beginning to aftermath in a dream and finds himself being presented with that very situation. Audition Song: Pilate & Christ.
(male-presenting) - High Baritone. The King of Galilee; Jesus is brought to him for judgment after first being taken to Pilate. Audition Song: King Herod’s Song
(male-presenting) - Tenor/BariTenor. One of Jesus’ twelve apostles who denied Jesus three times on the night of Jesus’ arrest to save himself. Audition Song: Peter’s Denial.
(male-presenting) - Tenor/BariTenor. One of Jesus twelve apostles; urges Jesus to lead his followers into battle against the Romans. Audition Song: Simon Zealotes.
(male-presenting) - Low Bass with Rocky Top/Bass/Baritone. High priest who sees Jesus as a threat to the nation. Audition Song: This Jesus Must Die.
(male-presenting) - High Baritone/CounterTenor. Fellow priest at the side of Caiaphas who is persuaded by Caiaphas into seeing Jesus as a threat. Audition Song: This Jesus Must Die.
