Singers Needed for "The Sound of Music" Show
The company is holding auditions for co-production of “The Sound of Music” and looking for performers, please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Additional info: What to Prepare for the Audition Prepare one 1-2 minute song that is from a Golden Age Musical that best demonstrates your vocal characteristics and abilities, and a 1-minute contemporary monologue from a published play. Both the song and monologue should be memorized. Please avoid selecting material from the show for the initial audition. An Accompanist will be present during auditions. (Soprano) A young postulant at Nonnberg Abbey. She is free-spirited, warm, and determined. Should be comfortable with moments of intimacy, including kissing Captain von Trapp.
(Baritone) A retired Austiran naval captain. He is polished and disciplined, yet suppresses his deep sadness over his late wife. Beneath his strict exterior, he is warm, understanding and deeply loyal. Should be comfortable with moments of intimacy, including kissing Maria.
(Tenor/Baritone) A charming and sophisticated man who enjoys the good life. A true and loyal friend to the von Trapp family
(Mezzo-Soprano) A stylish and elegant baroness. She is sophisticated, and has deep feelings for Captain von Trapp.
(Soprano) A maternal and authoritative figure. She is in charge of Nonnberg Abbey.
