Actors Wanted for "Dracula" Play Audition
Auditions for an expressionistic adaptation of Bram Stoker's "Dracula". Looking for cast. Please see the breakdown below. Additional info: Every person who auditions will receive a role, it can take on many actors. NO MONOLOGUE NECESSARY, auditions will consist of cold reads from the script and acting exercises. You will only be expected to stay until you finish your own cold reads and acting exercises. Roles are not cast with a specific gender. Rehearsals will be Saturday mornings from 10am - 2pm starting in December. The first week of February will have evening rehearsals as well. This show will be performed February 12 and 19. The antagonist and main monster of the story. A centuries old vampire and sorcerer. They seek world domination and plan to expand to England first.
Harker a young solicitor and estate agent. He travels to Transylvania to meet Dracula and becomes a prisoner upon discovering vampires. Later he escapes and reunites with his fiance Mina.
A young school mistress. She is very intelligent, morally pure and respected by both women and men. She is both a victim of Dracula and an active participant in the fight to thwart them.
A beautiful, innocent, and naive young woman. The best friend of Mina. She has several suitors. Lucy is a victim of Dracula and later passes from this.
An older person and patient at the asylum manager by Dr Seward. They are also the familiar of Dracula and believes in doing their bidding and eating small creatures like bugs they will become immortal.
A foreign professor with multiple degrees who many find to be strange and even ghoulish. They have a background in obscure disease and the occult. Open minded and strong willed their information is greatly important in the figur against Dracula.
A cowboy who is one of the suitors of Lucy. Brave and honest they fight for justice.
A nobleman who later gains the title of Lord. A suitor and the fiance of Lucy. His love for Lucy drives his fight with Dracula.
A ship captain who's ship is doomed because it is carrying Dracula. They slowly begin to see death and supernatural things until their whole crew succumbs.
The mate who lasts longest and has discourse with the captain.
