About the project: Based on the popular comic strip by Harold Gray, Annie has become a worldwide phenomenon and was the winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The beloved book and score by Tony Award winners, Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, features some of the greatest musical theatre hits ever written, including “Tomorrow.” With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone’s hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. She is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage that is run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. With the help of the other girls in the Orphanage, Annie escapes to the wondrous world of NYC. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan’s evil machinations… and even befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt! She finds a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy. Rate: Non-paid. Additional info: Non-equity. SPECIAL AUDITION REQUIREMENTS: - Please prepare one (1) minute of a musical theatre song in the style of the show and bring an alternate selection as a backup (in some cases, the casting team may wish to hear more). Do not sing a song from the show. You may not sing a cappella. - Bring sheet music in your key; an accompanist will be provided. - An instrumental track from a phone or other device, please have the audio edited, cued, and saved locally on your device. No streaming audio or wireless access will be provided. - Dance will be taught at the CALLBACK. There will be no dance call at the initial audition for ADULTS. If you are called back, dance is mandatory. - Please wear/bring appropriate clothing and dance shoes, jazz shoes or sneakers. - Please provide a résumé and headshot, if you have one. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: - Please list ALL commitments and potential commitments that occur during the rehearsal period – even those that are on days which are not currently listed as rehearsal days. The rehearsal schedule will be built around the cast’s availability. - No conflicts will be accepted for performance dates or the week before opening. No additional conflicts will be accepted after casting. - Registering in advance for a specific evening is highly encouraged but not required. - You may audition without appointment by arriving 15 minutes prior to the scheduled audition time. Post-audition feedback will not be given. Callbacks will be Saturday October 25, 2025, by invitation only, not all roles will be called back. REHEARSAL DATES: November 3rd, 2025 through January 29th, 2026 Monday – Thursday: 7:00–10:00pm 6:00pm call time tech week Saturdays during the day One Sunday for Tech, January 18, 2026 PLEASE NOTE: Rehearsal end time is highly approximate. There will be no specified end time during tech week. Directors will be very respectful of everyone’s time. PERFORMANCE DATES: January 30th – March 1st, 2025 (19 performances over 5 weeks) Weekends 1 and 2 | FRI 7:30, SAT 7:30, SUN 2:00. Weekends 3, 4 and 5 | FRI 7:30, SAT 2:00 and 7:30, SUN 2:00.
