About the project: Logline: In the midst of a ruthless war between mafias, an Italian family’s eager employee finds a concerning item that makes her worried their neighborhood is the next target of a brutal attack. In a desperate attempt to protect her and her dependent niece, she must convince her prideful and arrogant boss to prioritize their safety, while also keeping the family’s trust. (LEAD, Italian preferred): An outwardly confident and extravagant woman whose desires for belonging still linger from her childhood. As a numbers runner for a prominent Italian mafia family, she desperately attempts to gain the respect and acceptance of her bosses while surrounded by many who don’t seem to have to work for it. Ever since her sister abandoned her niece, Sue, Pia has been the willing and loving guardian. A victim of desensitization.
(LEAD, Italian preferred): A man whose respect comes from the willingness of others to acknowledge it. He loves to put on a show and take charge of the room. His true insecurities force him to claim authority rather than earn it, declaring himself the protector of the neighborhood. While he calls Pia family, at the end of the day, he will not risk himself or his lifestyle for her safety.
