A bout the project: Haunted after a terrifying home invasion, Camille purchases a gun to protect herself and her ailing mother. Ziegler and Winn explore what it means to be safe in this darkly comic new musical. Rate: For the workshop: All actors will receive a project stipend of $250. For the World Premiere Production: Members of Actors Equity will be on the new Single Engagement Agreement (category 1, tier B), $550 weekly minimum. Non-union actors are paid $1750 – $2100 for the project commensurate with experience and the size of the role. Additional info: Wednesday, October 29th 6-10pm CALLBACKS BY INVITATION ONLY Please prepare 16-32 bars of two (2) contrasting musical theatre songs in the style of Stephen Schwartz, Stephen Sondheim, William Finn, or Jason Robert Brown. Camille’s mother. Suffering from dementia. Sweet with an edge, but easily rattled or frightened. Has a simple dance number. Vocal range: alto
A novice gun salesman. Upbeat. A bit too eager to find love. Trying to rebuild his life after a tragedy. Plays very basic ukulele. Handles guns with some proficiency. Vocal range: tenor
George’s younger brother. Owns the gun store. Arrogant and condescending, but underneath, is insecure. Handles guns with some proficiency. Vocal range: baritone/tenor
Tightly wound and self important. A rule follower and firmly believes everyone else should be too. The father of a young child. Vocal range: baritone/tenor
Adult protective services agent. Overworked Tough, but not uncaring. Suspicious of Camille. Vocal range: alto or mezzo-soprano
