"Steel Magnolias" Audition for the Theater

Looking for actors for "Steel Magnolias" play. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: Rehearsals start Monday, Oct 20th. When do rehearsals begin? Rehearsals will begin Friday, October 17th with our welcome and introduction night. Especially if you are new to STC, please keep this night open. The following Monday, October 20, will be the first night of rehearsals. When is the show performed? Performance Dates are December 5 & 6 at 7pm, December 7 at 2pm, December 11 & 12 at 7pm, and December 13 at 2pm & 7pm. *You must be available for all performance dates/times. What is the rehearsal schedule like? Directors rehearse during the week Monday-Friday from 6:30-10pm. There is one weekend that actors will be called, Nov 22 & 23, for Tech Rehearsals. All participants must also be available for STRIKE either December 13 after the final performance or the following day, December 14, in the mid-morning through late afternoon. Directors will be off for Thanksgiving Weekend. Where are rehearsals and performances? All rehearsals will be at the Leslie W. Johnson Theatre (located inside Horace Mann Middle School on Union Ave in Sheboygan) *Unless otherwise noted* All performances are at the Leslie W. Johnson Theatre. What should I prepare? Please prepare a 1 to 1 ½ minute monologue. Actors are encouraged to bring a headshot and resume if you have one. Never done this before? That’s Okay! Selections will be made available at auditions. Do I need to come to callbacks? Not everyone who auditions may be called to callbacks. However, those interested in a main role, please anticipate being called for callbacks. Callbacks will be on October 16th at 6:30 pm. Callbacks will include readings from the script and potentially movement. If interested, please apply.
