About the project: Join Dominion Stage for auditions for our upcoming production of Xanadu, a fun-filled pop rock musical based on the 1980’s cult classic movie of the same name. Kira, a Greek muse, descends from Mount Olympus to Venice Beach, California, 1980, to inspire a struggling artist, Sonny, in his goal to open a roller disco. But when Kira falls into forbidden love with Sonny, chaos and hilarity ensue. Blending Greek mythology, 80’s pop culture, and campy humor, Xanadu is a fun, self-aware celebration of art, inspiration, love, and roller skates! Additional info: CALLBACKS (BY INVITATION ONLY): 1 NOVEMBER 2025, 12:00 PM. Auditionees should download, complete, & bring audition form & conflict sheet, as well as headshot & resume if you have them. Auditions will include both a vocal and dance portion. For the vocal audition, prepare 16-32 bars of a song in the style of the show (i.e. pop/rock/disco/swing) that showcases your vocal range and acting abilities; please do not use music from the show for your audition. Bring printed sheet music in your key; an accompanist will be provided. For the dance audition, come prepared to move with comfortable clothing and shoes. Rehearsals Rehearsals begin 15 November 2025 and will take place at Theatre on the Run, 3700 S Four Mile Run Drive, Arlington, VA 22206. Some roller skating rehearsals may be scheduled at a different location in the DMV area (exact location TBD). Performances Performances will be from 30 January 2026 to 14 February 2026, Thursdays, Fridays, & Saturdays, all 8 PM performances.
