Tales of the Artisan is a new musical written and composed by the writing team of Matt Moore and Cate Murray. A heartwarming, gripping, sometimes whimsical but always moving story of a small Scots/Irish Gaelic family with a powerful secret fleeing political persecution in 1814 America, Tales of the Artisan transports the viewers to a secret world of magic, wonder and intrigue. Part coming-of-age story, part action thriller and part homage to the incredible connection of family, the musical features an evolution of early American music, beginning with its roots in Scotch/Irish culture and exploring aspects of early folk. The score is full of lush blends, big dance numbers, magic effects and features a small on-stage orchestra comprised of the primary characters. Fauquier Community Theatre’s production of Tales of The Artisan is directed by Matt Moore, music directed by Cate Murray, and produced by Mary Beth Balint. Book & Lyrics by Matthew Moore.
