About the project: "A Man With A Vision is an original gospel musical based on the true-life events of Pastor Leroy Sanders, Sr. Through music and dialogue, it tells the story of Rev. Moses Rose, a Louisiana-born preacher who overcame abandonment and poverty to build a thriving ministry — only to face betrayal, lawsuits, and a battle for his legacy." Additional info: Walk-ins will be available if time allows. What to Prepare: - 30 seconds of a gospel, R&B, or a musical theater song (see suggested songs in the document attached) (acapella) - Be prepared to read from the script - Headshot - Resume (optional) Callbacks (by invitation only): Tuesday, October 27, 2025. Strong actor and singer. Protagonist of the story. Louisiana-born preacher, who was abandoned by his mother & father, but became a devout family man, as well as a notable pastor.

Little JoshuaMale18-20 y.o.African-American

Appears to be 11-12; strong actor and singer. Little Joshua is Moses and JoAnn’s youngest son and is the narrator throughout the play. He exists in and out of the scenes, offering the audience context and comedic relief.

Little MosesMale18-25 y.o.African-American

Appears 14-16, strong actor and singer. Little Moses is the young version of Moses Rose. His father has abandoned him, and his mother leaves him and his siblings with different family members. He is a self-sufficient child, but he longs for more. He is motivated to be and do better by the resentment he holds towards his father and mother.

Strong actor and singer. JoAnn is Moses Rose’s wife. She is a sweet, soft-spoken, classy lady, born the 3rd out of 12 children. She grew up in a strict, religious household, which shaped her beliefs into being a God-fearing woman. She has dreams, but she desires to follow God’s will for her life, no matter the circumstances. She is the epitome of a traditional wife and class.

Moses Rose right hand man. He is loyal and follows order.

Will play ages 15-40s in the show; strong actor and singer. Linda is Moses and JoAnn’s youngest daughter. She injects humor and sass into everything. She is particularly close with Delores and Joshua. She is part of the second set of children Moses and JoAnn have.

Will play ages 16-42 in the show; strong actor and singer. Delores is Moses and JoAnn’s second youngest daughter. She is the glue of the siblings. Her infectious smile can brighten any room, but she also is a no nonsense type of person. She, Linda, and Joshua make up the second set of children Moses and JoAnn have.

Strong actor and singer. Colette is Moses and JoAnn’s second oldest daughter. She is part of the first set of children they have. Colette is a daddy’s girl and is devoutly loyal to her parents. She loves deeply and would give the shirt off her back. She is also the peacemaker.

Jessie is Moses and JoAnn’s oldest son. He went to the army when he was of age, but he once was his parents’ trouble child. He has grown out of it, but he still tends to buck the system. However, he loves his family and wants the best for everyone.

Joycelyn is Moses and JoAnn’s oldest daughter, and she wants everyone to know it. She is the black sheep of the siblings. She loves her family, but she has a strange way of showing it because her attitude, jealousy, and desire to be seen overshadows it.

Strong actor and singer. Big Joshua is the older version of Little Joshua. Though he is the baby of the family, Big Joshua (Joshua) is a confident and acts as the oldest. He becomes a pastor. When he speaks, people listen, and he demands respect when he enters the room. He is loving, but he doesn’t play about his momma and daddy.

Deacon Garvey is a church member who stirs up trouble. He is also part of the group that starts the lawsuit against Moses Rose.

Sis. Garvey is Deacon Garvey’s wife. She is also part of the group that starts the lawsuit against Moses Rose. However, she is the only woman that is named as part of the lawsuit.

Deacon FelderMale50-59 y.o.African-American

Deacon Felder is one of Moses Rose’s seemingly loyal deacons. However, his desire for more can and will get him in more trouble than he bargains for. He is easily persuadable and becomes a member of the group that starts the lawsuit.

DevinMale40-44 y.o.African-American

Strong actor. Devin acts as though he is a devout and loyal church member, however his motives are not entirely pure. He was raised in hatred and through the lens of jealous, which leads him to scheme a plan to sue Moses Rose. Devin wants to be a better person, but the beliefs that have been embedded into him won’t allow him. He is also part of the group that is named in the lawsuit.
