"Urinetown" Musical Casting Performers
Auditions for spring musical "Urinetown". Looking for cast. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. See more info below. About the project: "A terrible drought forces a ban on private toilets with a goal of decreased water consumption. In order to do their private business, citizens must pay to use public amenities. And they can’t just skip the fees by going in the bushes or else they’ll face the dreaded Urinetown! Can our hero help the people pee for free?" Additional info: Directors will hold auditions on a first come, first served basis. You should not have to stay during the whole audition window. For auditions, you will be asked to do the following: 1. Sing roughly 1 minute of a musical theatre song, ideally one sung by the character you're auditioning for. Unless you bring your own track and play it on your phone, singing auditions will be a capella. Directors will also test your vocal range by asking you to sing scales along with the piano. 2. Read a scene from the show. These do NOT need to be memorized. They will have copies of the sides at auditions, but, if you'd like to work on a scene ahead of time, see attachments. (If auditioning for a role without an included scene, perform one of your choosing.) If you are interested, please apply.
