About the project: SYNOPSIS: Groundhog Day: The Musical follows cynical TV weatherman Phil Connors, sent to cover Punxsutawney’s quirky Groundhog Day—only to wake up trapped reliving February 2nd again…and again..and again. At first, he indulges every impulse; then the emptiness hits. With the earnest Rita Hanson providing a moral compass, Phil learns to listen, help his neighbors, and choose love over ego. Rate: A small stipend will be paid based on opening night sales. Additional info: WHAT TO PREPARE: 16-32 bars in a pop-rock style. (A song from the show is fine) A song that includes patter with an emphasis on diction is appreciated. The funnier the better! There will be a dance call for the audition. Come prepared to dance. Some roles require character-type dancing and comedic physicality, so singers who move well are encouraged to audition. Callbacks (by invitation only) Wednesday, October 29th @ 7pm. Rehearsals start date to be determined. Rehearsal Days: Sundays, Mondays and Wednesdays Performance Dates: January 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 29th, 30th, 31st February 1st, 5th, 6th, 7th.
