A man of immense charm that is disguised by insecurity and a lack of bravado. He is extremely sensitive, likeable, and warm. Zack can be awkward and shy at times, and often finds it easier to be the butt of the joke.
A traditionally handsome man with the charm to go with it. He is ambitious in his quest to have money and control. Underneath his shiny surface, Paul is conniving and selfish and only ever acts in his own best interest.
A smart, calculating, prudent woman, and the mother of Zack and Paul. She can quickly analyze a situation from all angles. She wants to protect herself and her sons at all costs, and is obsessed with maintaining appearances.
She is a wealthy cousin of the Munnings, who visits from the city to try to improve her health. She is intelligent, autonomous, and insightful.
She is the daughter of Joe Wrigley. She is naive, awkward, and self-pitying who gets herself into trouble with her impulsiveness. Martha is child-like who operates with little control over her life.
The Munnings’ housekeeper. She is extremely confident, even though she is extremely incompetent. She is sassy and bratty, with no respect for authority.
A dominant and imposing man. He is litigious, self-righteous, and vengeful. He insists on being intimidating even with his broken arm.
Recently married, James is a friendly, exacting man who visits the Munnings to provide feedback on their catering work. He chooses his words carefully and believes in paying good money for good work.
A red-faced dairy man, Thomas is a member of the town council who has great influence over the Munnings. He loves mellow cheese, mellow ale, mellow women, and mellow parties.
A tall farmer with mutton-chop whiskers, he is a member of the town council with great influence over the Munnings. He is the one who astutely points out that Zack is the reason the Munnings’ catering business is going well.
