About the project: In this Tony Award winning musical, perfume shop clerks Amalia and Georg don't see eye to eye, as they unknowingly exchange love letters after they both respond to a "lonely hearts advertisement" in the newspaper, Join Amalia and Georg as they discover the identity of their true loves... and all the twists and turns along the way! Additional info: You will be required to fill out an audition form upon arrival. A resume and headshot are optional but would be appreciated. Please come prepared with a song that fits the style of the show/character for which you would like to be considered. You may be asked to sing a song from the show for a specific character. Vocal range: B2 to F4. Songs: She Loves Me, Tonight at Eight. A dedicated, somewhat reserved clerk at Maraczek’s Parfumerie. Intelligent and responsible, Georg values order and loyalty, though he can be stubborn. Beneath his seriousness is a warm, romantic heart that slowly reveals itself.
Vocal range: C4 to B5. Songs: Vanilla Ice Cream, Will He Like Me. A bright, spirited young woman who lands a job at Maraczek’s after proving her quick wit and charm. Independent and strong-willed, she dreams of true love and isn’t afraid to stand her ground. Her sharpness softens as she discovers love where she least expects it.
Vocal range: B2 to A4. Songs: Ilona, Grand Knowing. A charming, smooth-talking clerk. Confident, vain, and flirtatious, Kodaly thrives on charm and manipulation. Though attractive and witty, his selfishness often causes trouble as he is seen as a shallow womanizer.
Vocal range: F#3 to E5. Songs: I Resolve, A Trip to the Library. A vivacious employee at the Parfumerie who loves romance and attention. Outgoing, glamorous, and sometimes unlucky in love, she longs for a more meaningful relationship. Her playful exterior hides a yearning for respect and stability.
Vocal range: A2 to E4. Songs: Perspective. A middle-aged clerk at the shop. Cautious, nervous, and eager to avoid conflict, he often plays the role of peacemaker. Though timid, he has a good heart and brings gentle humor to the parfumerie.
Vocal range: Bb2 to E4. Song: Try Me. The eager young delivery boy at the parfumerie. Energetic, optimistic, and ambitious, he idolizes the clerks and dreams of proving himself worthy of promotion. His youthful enthusiasm brings lightness to the shop.
Vocal range: B2 to C4. Song: Days Gone By. The owner of the parfumerie. Proud, old-fashioned, and dignified, he holds his employees to high standards. With a commanding presence, his dedication to the trade is rivaled only by his faithfulness to his wife.
Vocal range: E3 to F4 (falsetto B4). Song: A Romantic Atmosphere. The elegant, perfectionist maître d’ of Café Imperiale. He takes great pride in maintaining an atmosphere of refinement and romance, even when chaos threatens to unravel it. Polished, formal, and a touch fussy, he is both comic and commanding, striving to preserve dignity while discreetly managing his eccentric staff and unpredictable guests.
