Seeking cast local to DFW, TX for Insanity in 5 Acts, a comedic short film about the nightmare audition experience we've all lived through - but taken to absurd extremes. The story follows two actresses enduring increasingly ridiculous audition scenarios that spiral into complete chaos. Think improv comedy meets physical farce, with plenty of room for actors to bring their own comedic instincts to the roles. One rehearsal day planned for mid October 2025. Seeking an actor to play The Director - the mysterious voice from the darkness of the auditorium who barks increasingly absurd improv prompts at our hapless actresses. This character only appears briefly on screen and in shadow, existing mostly as an authoritative voice that drives the chaos forward with bizarre scenario after bizarre scenario. Looking for someone with strong vocal presence who can deliver ridiculous directions with complete authority and conviction.
Shawna's an experienced actress and lovable chaos goblin. The lead's best friend who has orchestrated this entire fake audition as an elaborate intervention, partly to teach Tara to stop taking shit from men, partly to show her she’s not a good actor and should consider more realistic career options, but mostly because Shawna can't resist an opportunity to mess with her friend. Looking for an actor with strong improv and comedy skills.
