7 roles
A professional pollster. A smart, confident woman with a professional's view of politics: she sees it as a contest to be won.
Chief of Staff to the new Governor. Very smart, but despite years of experience in government, endearingly naive about politics.
A temp hired as the Governor's assistant. Personable, likable and confident, but entirely inept. Without knowing it, she has the air of a politician about her.
The new Governor. Impressive ability, but a complete lack of confidence. A man awaiting permission to enter a room where he's already standing.
An experienced political consultant. Overbearing and overconfident, he should be unlikable, but his ego is tempered by the joy he brings into the room. He may be a showman, but his excitement is 100% genuine, and it's contagious.
TV reporter. The looks of an on-air correspondent with the soul of a journalist. Inquisitive by nature, she's seen enough of politics to be cynical, but can still make a wry joke.
TV cameraman. A working guy and the one you didn't notice was there. But he'd rather not interact anyway - he has a low tolerance for idiocy. He's not unfriendly, just a bit of a mystery.
