About the project: Maria, a counselor devoted to helping her clients, asks them to make a sketch of their dreams. But, when they do, their drawings carry the same haunting absence. As she listens and collects their fragile visions, Maria is led back to her own buried memory-- a rooftop imbued with loss, and her best friend (Anna) urging her to look up. The blank skies pull her toward a rooftop from her own past, a place once filled with silence, loss, and Anna’s voice urging her to look up. Confronting what she had forgotten, Maria discovers that by guiding others through their pain, she is also reclaiming her own. In facing her silence, she finds the courage to lift her eyes to the sky once again. Rate: Unpaid. Catering and craft service provided. Maria is a counselor that specializes in anxiety and depression — quiet, observant, and deliberate with her words. She listens deeply, never rushing those who sit across from her. Outwardly she appears calm and composed, yet beneath that surface she carries a private weight of loss and a fatigue she rarely shows. She is skilled at helping others breathe easier, but grows increasingly uncertain of how to guide them, as she has not yet faced the emptiness within herself.
She is gentle and compassionate friend of Maria who has the ability to make others feel seen and less alone. Although Anna has died, the warmth and strength of her spirit continue to guide Maria forward.
Iris is quiet and introspective, often expressing herself more through sketches than through words. Once, she had a partner who gave her a rare sense of safety and belonging. Their sudden death left her unmoored, carrying a silence she cannot put into words. I Cautious yet searching, she embodies both fragility and persistence.
She grew up in an unstable home, never certain of her place in the world. She was bullied when she as a student; even a friend who once promised to stay by her side suddenly betrayed her. She began to see herself as “upside down,” unable to align with the world around her.
He once devoted himself to reporting on social issues, believing words could save lives. But editors reshaped his work, twisting the voices he wanted to honor. Each betrayal deepened his doubt until his hand refused to write. The final blow came when a vulnerable subject he interviewed was attacked by the public he hoped to reach, leaving him unable to continue
