About the project: When young Dorothy Gale is swept away from her Kansas farm by a cyclone, she lands in the magical land of Oz. Determined to return home, she sets off on a journey along the Yellow Brick Road to the Emerald City to seek help from the mysterious Wizard of Oz. Along the way, she befriends a Scarecrow longing for a brain, a Tin Man in search of a heart, and a Cowardly Lion who craves courage. Together they face dangers, including the Wicked Witch of the West, and discover that the qualities they seek have been within them all along. Ultimately, Dorothy learns that “there’s no place like home.” Additional info: Please prepare 32 bars of a song in the style of the show. It may be a song from The Wizard of Oz. Bring your sheet music in a binder if you would like accompaniment. A Bluetooth speaker will also be available for those using audio recordings. Please come to auditions prepared to move. And wear comfortable clothing, plus sneakers or jazz shoes. Callbacks will be held on October 16 from 6 - 9 p.m. Rehearsals begin on October 26. Rehearsals will be held Sundays - Wednesday each week from 6 - 9 p.m. Depending on cast availability, additional rehearsals may be scheduled as needed to work on specific scenes, songs or dances. After registering, those auditioning will be asked to fill out a Conflict Calendar to note any days during the rehearsal process that they are not available. There will not be rehearsals on November 25 or December 22 - January 3. TECH REHEARSALS AND PERFORMANCE DETAILS. Tech Rehearsals begin Monday, January 12, through opening night. And will likely run until closer to 10 p.m. Performances are: January 16 at 7 p.m. January 17 at 2 p.m. January 18 at 2 p.m. January 23 at 7 p.m. January 24 at 2 p.m. January 26 at 2 p.m. There will be a brush-up rehearsal for all cast and crew the evening of January 21. No conflicts are allowed during tech week or performances. If interested, please apply.

The Good Witch of the North (Range: G3-C5) Description: A combination role where Aunt Em is a hard-working, warm farmer and Glinda is a graceful, motherly Good Witch.
Henry Gale / EMERALD CITY GUARD (Range: Bb2-Eb4) Description: Dorothy’s good-natured uncle and the keeper of the Emerald City gates.
Farmhand / COWARDLY LION (Range: Bb2-F4) Description: A mix of bravado and cowardice. Should move well. Cuddly actor with excellent comic timing.
Farmhand / TINMAN (Range: Bb2-G4) Description: Desperate for a heart. A kind-hearted romantic. Singing and dance required.
Farmhand / SCARECROW (Range: Bb2-F#4 (opt. Ab4)) Description: Plucky and clever in a pinch, even while lacking a brain. Strong actor with an honest quality. Excellent dancer – acrobatic skills a bonus.
Non-singing role Description: Character villain with an over-the-top stage presence. Has a killer cackle.
Non-singing role Description: A travelling salesman and a con-man with a good heart.
