About the project: Before she was a hit-maker, Carole King was Carole Klein, a spunky, young songwriter from Brooklyn with a unique voice. From the chart-topping hits she wrote for the biggest acts in the music industry like The Shirelles and The Drifters, to her own life-changing, trailblazing success with her legendary 1971 album Tapestry, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical takes you back to where it all began, through her struggles and triumphs - and takes you on the ride of a lifetime. Additional info: Callbacks by Invitation only - Monday, October 6th, 2025 from 7:00-10:00 pm. They will include reading and singing from the script, dance and movement. REHEARSAL TIMEFRAME First read through will begin January 11th, 2026 at 6:30pm at the River Street Playhouse Dance Studio Rehearsals Possible Saturday/Sunday Noon- 4pm Monday through Thursday 6:30pm-9:30 pm Tech Week: Sunday, March 22nd through March 26th, 2026 PERFORMANCE DATES March 27th- April 19th 2026 Evenings: Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30pm Matinees: March 29, April 12 & 19 at 2:00pm Please bring: - Your theater resume (if any - having a resume is not a requirement to audition!) - A headshot or other photo for the production team's reference - Music: Present a memorized song that is in the style of the show. Please bring sheet music, 32 bars, in the style of the show in an appropriate key. Please do not sing music from the show itself. An accompanist will be provided. Songs from Beautiful are acceptable.
