That can get messy. - Tim and Jake may be Deaf roommates sharing an apartment in the city, but they’re polar opposites — each with very different views on what it means to be Deaf in a hearing world. When it comes to taking out the trash, they spiral into a comic and insightful examination of their personal garbage — and their perceptions of each other’s lives. SETTING: An apartment kitchen with a dining table and chairs. A full trash can sits next to a modest refrigerator. The JUKEBOX is nearby. On the wall is a large window with dry erased markings scribbled on it. There are various merchandises promoting a fictional video relay service company scattered across the apartment, including the calendar. Rate: LOA-NYC $1000 weekly minimum Additional info: Audition lunch 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Deaf or Hard of Hearing actors who are proficient in ASL are encouraged to audition. Signing actors who can utilize ASL between conversational to proficient levels are encouraged to audition. PREPARATION Please prepare a brief comedic monologue. Directors would like to see ASL proficiency so please be prepared to sign in ASL or to sign during your audition. Also, please bring your headshot and resume stapled together. Rehearsal Dates: Feb 17th-March 3rd, 2026 Tech (8 hours/day): March 4, 5, 6 Tech/Preview: March 7, 8, 10 Tech/Press Preview: March 11 Press Preview: March 12 Performances: March 13 - March 28 (6 show weeks - Tues-Sat, 2 shows on Sat) Total of 21 performances EPA Procedures are in effect for this audition.
