Singing Opportunities in "White Christmas" Production
Production of "White Christmas" play seeks talent. Review the details provided below. Additional info: Rehearsals begin September 29, Generally Monday thru Thursday, 7pm to 10. (Some Sundays for dance rehearsals.) Performances November 21 thru December 13. Please prepare 16-32 bars (up to 1 minute) from the American Theater Songbook (no rock, gospel or recent pop). Please be prepared to dance at auditions. Except where indicated, most roles require tap. Tap experience is very helpful, but directors will teach you if you are willing to learn. Former army captain and half of the song-and-dance duo Wallace and Davis. Cynical, charming with a strong sense of loyalty and duty. Strong Baritone, A3 - G4
Former army captain and the other half of the song-and-dance duo Wallace and Davis. Fun loving, adventurous, and mischievous, always looking for a good time and romance. Baritone A3 - G4
Older sister of the Haynes Sisters. Independent, pragmatic and protective of her younger sister. Huge skeptic. Note - this role does not tap, but does move well. Alto G3 - D5.
Younger sister of the Haynes Sisters. Adventurous, vivacious; a romantic at heart and somewhat impulsive. Alto G3 - D5
Housekeeper at the Columbia Inn. A Broadway performer in retirement (known as the clarion of Broadway), with a flair for the dramatic and impeccable comic timing. Note - this role does not tap, but does move well. Strong alto belt F3 - C5.
Owner of the Columbia Inn, and Bob and Phil’s former commanding officer. Gruff, stern - still runs things like he was in charge of a military unit, but soft, genuine and caring underneath. Note - this character does not dance, and has little singing. Baritone, any range.
Army buddy of Bob and Phil, now a major executive for the Ed Sullivan Show. Also fun and freewheeling, a flair for drama. Baritone C4 - E4.
