About the project: WHAT: Charles Dickens' A CHRISTMAS CAROL is a spectacular musical extravaganza, which tells the tale of miser Ebeneezer Scrooge. Hoping to change his destiny and save his soul, this brilliant musical follows Scrooge through a series of strange and magical journeys, as he is visited by ghosts of Christmases past, present and future, leading him to ultimately discover the true spirit of the holiday season. Thanks to the marvelously told story and beautiful score, this beloved story has found a special place in our hearts, generation after generation. Featuring music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens. This is a fun, charming, family-friendly musical that will bring audiences together to celebrate the spirit of the holiday season! Additional info: WHAT TO PREPARE/BRING: The audition will start with a short dance combination. Everyone in the group will participate, so please arrive on time for your audition session. Be prepared to sing a musical theater song of your choice (32 bars in length is good) or an up-tempo Christmas carol, for a vocal audition. You may sing with a backing track, or without one! You may be asked to read an excerpt from the script (provided) or sing a short selection from the score (provided.) Please bring a current headshot and performance resume (if you have one, not required,) along with any conflicts, vacations etc. between the dates of October 1- November 29. REHEARSALS: Rehearsals will begin at the end of September/start of October. Rehearsal days will depend on the availability of the cast andare generally held on 2-3 weekdays between 6:00pm-9:00pm. There will be weekend rehearsals, either on Saturday or Sunday depending on cast availability. Not all cast members will be needed at all rehearsals. Elementary school-aged children will be dismissed by 8:30pm (or sooner) up until TECH WEEK. Directors are hoping to hold rehearsals Mondays/Tues/Thurs/Saturdays. Again: Not all cast members will be needed at all rehearsals. A detailed schedule will be created once cast. TECH SUNDAY is Nov. 30th 12pm – 8pm and will be mandatory for all cast and crew members. TECH WEEK CONTINUES 12/1-12/3 6:00pm – when directors finish. PERFORMANCES: (12 performances total, over 3 weekends) Shows run: December 4-21, 2025, with shows Thurs, Fri, Sat at 7:30pm and Sun at 2:00pm If interested, please apply.
