About the project: Reia, an extremely introverted young woman, hides from the outside world in her plant-filled home with only her pet bird for company. When a bylaw officer issues a final warning about her overgrown front yard, Reia is forced to confront her fear of people and exposure. Through late-night cleanup attempts, awkward disguises, and encounters with her friendly neighbor, she struggles with anxiety, exhaustion, and shame. Slowly, she realizes the world isn’t watching as closely as she fears. By clearing her yard in daylight, Reia takes her first small step toward connection, growth, and adapting to the outside world. A strict but fair character, who cares a lot about the law, but is also very reasonable and understanding deep down. Despite their tough exterior, the bylaw officer agrees to give Reia a second chance and an extra week to clean her front yard. The officer has a soft spot for Reia due to her odd behaviour, but is determined to fine her if she fails to complete her task.
Greg is an easygoing and friendly extrovert. He is Reia’s next door neighbour and her complete opposite. He loves to be outside, tending his garden and making small talk with passersby. His main purpose in life is to put a smile on someone’s face. Despite not knowing Reia very well, he has a soft spot for her, and really wishes her the best. Greg’s age is not relevant to his character.
