Singing Audition for "Annie" Play
Talent are welcome to audition for the "Annie" musical. Please see the details below. About the project: With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. She is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage that is run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. With the help of the other girls in the Orphanage, Annie escapes to the wondrous world of NYC. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations... and even befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt! She finds a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy. Rate: All roles are open and unpaid. Additional info: No prior experience necessary. When you arrive, you will be asked to fill out an audition form. Please come with a list of your potential rehearsal conflicts. Directors will be seeing people in the order that they arrive, and appointments are not necessary. Once you are called in, you will be asked to sing a song of your choice. Please come prepared with a selected song and bring sheet music or a backing track with you. Directors prefer musical theatre songs that are not from the show. Piano accompaniment will be provided. You may also audition without a prepared song if you are interested in non-singing roles only. Some actors may be asked to read sides at auditions, which will be provided to you. Callbacks, if needed and by invitation only, will be held on Monday, October 20, in the evening. PERFORMANCES: Saturday, January 31 (evening) and Sunday, February 1 (afternoon) at B'nai Tzedek. (Female-Presenting; A3-F5) - The orphanage matron who hates children but is fond of liquor. Very disillusioned, bitter, and cold.
(Male-Presenting; B3-G5) - Miss Hannigan's no-good brother looking for a quick buck. A sleazy, slick con man.
(Female-Presenting; B3-G5) - Rooster's girlfriend, who is also out for a quick buck. She is considered to be flirty and not too smart.
(Male-Presenting; Eb3-F4) - The 32nd President of the United States. A Democrat and friend of Warbucks.
(Male-Presenting; E4-G5) - The ultimate radio personality. He helps Annie by broadcasting about the search for her birth parents.
(Male-Presenting; Non-Singing) - A NYPD officer who is suspicious of Annie.
(Male-Presenting; Non-Singing) - The laundryman.
(Female-Presenting; Multiple vocal ranges) - Singing group that performs with Bert Healy. Must be able to sing well and harmonize
