"Reeling Back the Dreams" Movie Needs Actors
Casting call for "Reeling Back the Dreams" project. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Please see the roles below. About the project: Logline: A surreal and poetic short exploring themes of pregnancy, abandonment, and transformation. Through whispered intimacy, symbolic visuals, and lush textures, we dive into grief, letting go, and reclaiming boundaries. Rate: This is an unpaid project, but meals will be provided. Great opportunity for actors interested in experimental and poetic short film work. Additional info: Shooting dates: September 12th–14th. See the flyer attached. (Lead). Portrays the dreamer/narrator figure. Emotional range: vulnerability, grief, resilience. Strong expressive ability; performance is primarily non-verbal (gestures, presence, intimacy). Look: Asian American, naturalistic and cinematic presence.
(Supporting). Represents absence and detachment. Minimal dialogue (if any); focus on physicality and subtle emotional distance. Must be comfortable with intimate but non-sexual interaction on camera.
(Supporting). Maternal figure, symbolic of wisdom and memory. Evokes grounded warmth yet layered with ambiguity (delivers the line about the child being taken in voiceover or on screen). Strong facial expressiveness, minimal dialogue. Look: Asian American.
