About the project: Story: At the start of her junior year of high school, Averi finds herself propelled into her older boyfriend, Cameron’s, downward spiral. After a series of escalating red flags—a football injury leads to Cameron cutting class and selling drugs—Averi starts to pull away from him. Sensing this Cameron shows a rare, unexpected vulnerability—drawing her back in with a sense of hope. What follows is a subtle unraveling: Averi stands by Cameron, less out of love, and more out of hope and desire to fix him. The tragedy isn’t that she’s trapped—it’s that she chooses to stay.
